Carole worked in high pressure environments in the construction industry until 2012, then moved into aerospace at managerial and board level.
In 2018, Carole established Needles and Pins (UK) Ltd based in Somerton.
She has a wealth of financial knowledge and expertise and has nurtured the company to be one of the fore runners in supplying Ground Support Equipment for the South West of England.
Whilst each day brings new challenges and opportunities for this thriving company, Carole took the opportunity to co-found Tica Lily, offering handmade luxury linen products.
Tim spent his working life associated with many fields of construction, including senior management roles and owning his own businesses.
Carole, his wife, deemed he should not have a quiet retirement so persuaded him to found Tica Lily with her.
Having worked with industrial textiles since 1977, Jean joined RADs in 2008 leading its sewing room. She came to us in August 2018 and has responsibility for procurement, production and on-time delivery.
Our new Business Development Manager Michelle has been with us since March 21, initially starting as a seamstress before moving into her new role over the Summer.
She has a good balance of creativity and commercial awareness which is vital for the product development work we do for our clients and within our own branded range.
Her previous expertise is within sourcing and developing materials globally, but Tica Lily are endeavouring to source within the UK/Europe and Michelle has made this her remit.
She has worked with some of the leaders in Fashion; Melissa Odabash Swimwear, Alison Hayes UK Ltd who supply Debenhams, Julian MacDonald Star and Ben de Lisi at Principles to mention a few.
Michelle focuses on the development of our new product ranges and works closely with clients and brands to develop their own bespoke products. She looks for new avenues and business opportunities and helps to establish efficient ways of working within our Somerset factory setting. The role also includes sourcing and procurement of production materials and marketing.
In her leisure time, Michelle enjoys crafting, upcycling, gardening and spending time with her family.
Marta joined the team in August 2020 as a sewing machinist and has taken on the role of Sales Manager.
She has helped promote the business by going out into the local community and surrounding areas, enabling her to meet potential clients and build strong connections.
Our clients enjoy Marta’s warm and friendly personality allowing them to be relaxed and confident in their dealings with Ticalily.
She is fluent in two languages, Polish and English which she has found valuable when meeting with potential clients. She is the proud owner of two beautiful dogs and in her spare time she enjoys walking and reading.
Introducing Tina, our newest team member.
Tina has worked for many years in the NHS and is very experienced in adhering to strict protocol and procedures.
Prior to this, Tina completed an apprenticeship as a leather machinist. Her experience in this field will enhance the services we can offer our customers.
Throughout her time in the NHS, Tina continued her love of sewing in her spare time and has only furthered her capabilities.
Now Tina enjoys gardening, going on walks and baking.
Abbie began her sewing career in 2016 as a junior seamstress. She has a family background within this industry giving her insider knowledge and speed, which led to her Trainee Manager position.
Carol is our Senior Seamstress and has more than 30 years’ experience in industrial sewing with 19 years specialising in aviation sewing and her knowledge of our products is extensive. She is a great mentor for the team.
Charlotte previously worked in the creative arts department at Bridgwater and Taunton College for several years.
Prior to that, she secured a BA in Textiles and Surface Design and a Diploma in Art and Design.
She brings with her an array of talents – such talents and achievements we intend to put to good use!
In her spare time, Charlotte loved being creative, particularly through embroidery.
She also enjoys being outdoors surrounded by nature and going on long walks.
When she isn’t embroidering or outdoors, Charlotte finds herself often getting lost in a good book!
